Who we are
Mission: What we do –
Abide in Christ
Bring God Glory
“I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing….
By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples. John 15:5,8 (NKJV)
Motto: Abiding in Christ, so all will know His glory!
Q: What does it mean to abide?
A: Abiding is not a magic formula, it cannot be an “A to Z”, it must be about daily choices for each individual to live with God as the center of all they do. Joseph story from the OT teaches – he kept doing everything right, and yet went from despised youngest, to slave, to prison, and yet his choice was about pushing deeper into God. Joseph was able to declare in the end, “it was not you who sent me here, but God.” Abiding is finding who you are in Christ and letting that guide all that you do, not the circumstances of life.
Q: What does it mean to bear fruit?
A: Bearing fruit according to scripture, is a natural part of life in Christ. We are supposed to be fruitful in our lives, because by this, God is glorified in the earth. We do not look for things that man can accomplish on his own, we will join with the Lord to accomplish things on the earth that only God can do. We live a life that looks like, sounds like, walks like, feels like, and has the same outcomes as Jesus. We believe that Jesus was not only the standard but also the firstborn of those who live in the kingdom. His promise is that we will do all he did and more.
Q: What does it mean to bring God glory?
A: God says that he has left his glory to us being fruitful on the earth. When Jesus left to return to the father. He said that we – His disciples – had a mission. It is to bring heaven to earth, that what Jesus paid for on the cross would be seen by all the world.
This is what brings God glory – when we act like, look like, sound like, and get the same results as Jesus did!
Why do we do this?
SO THAT ALL OF LAUREL WILL BE SAVED!
